About Us

Kiwis Day-care Nursery is a registered and fully insured childcare service, governed by CIW (CARE Inspector of Wales). Kiwis offers a wrap around service for children attending St Mary’s Catholic Primary School Nursery. We are a non religious setting based in St Marys Catholic Primary School.

 

Private Nursery

Kiwis Day-care Nursery provides children with pre-school experiences such as, art, craft and construction activities, sand and water play, adventure play, music and movement, books and stories etc, as well as the opportunity to socialise with other children. We provide a stable, secure, and relaxed environment where parents and carers feel satisfied to leave their children. Parents and carers also have the chance to build relationships with other parents encouraging playdates away from the education environment.

How many children may attend a Kiwis Day-care?

Our setting is registered for 19 children, our staffing ratio is 1 adult to every 5 children aged 2 to 3 years old and 1 adult to every 8 children aged between 3 to 5 years old. We sometimes have to take extra staff to care for children with disabilities. All of our staff caring for your children are DBS checked and have qualifications in First Aid, Child Protection, plus Food & hygiene.

Kiwis Day-care Nursery is based at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Canton Cardiff.

How do you settle your child?

Our staff will ask you to stay with your child for several sessions until your child becomes familiar with our new setting and staff. They may ask you to start by leaving your child for short periods until you are leaving them for the whole session.

What information will Kiwi’s need?

You will be asked to complete a registration form giving details of your child, any illnesses or allergies, where you can be contacted etc., and any information that will help your child to settle. You would be also given a handbook containing all relevant policies procedures and contact details
